On the very first day of school, we'll discuss why having rules is important. Our classroom rules are the "Great Expectations" that we will follow throughout the schoolyear.
Sharing The Responsibility
Some say it takes a village to raise a child . . . but exactly who is responsible in educating your child? My philosophy is that there are three major influences:
THE PARENTS: Parents are responsible for encouraging their child's best efforts, providing ongoing assistance with daily homework, encouraging respectful behavior and adherence to classroom rules, and providing all necessary school supplies.
THE STUDENTS: Students are responsible for coming to school every day eager to learn, and while in school, they should obey all Great Expectations.
THE TEACHERS: It is my responsibility to provide quality instruction/learning activities in a non-threatening, safe learning environment, which will enable students to learn all first grade material.
